Feminine Symbols & Aspects of Compassion. White Tara "presides" over this chant. She is a female Buddha. White Tara is known for wisdom, long life, healing and serenity. Green Tara (statue) is known for compassion. The Hebrew characters spell "Shechinah" the compassionate female aspect of God in Judaism. Mother Mary is the compassionate female Christian aspect. The Wings and Heart (star and crescent) are the symbol of the Sufi order of Islam dedicated to divine love. Kuan Yin is the Chinese Buddhist version of Tara and a deity of mercy. Gaia is our compassionate planet, who takes our pain and toxins, cleanses them, and gives us in return our lives. "Tare tu tare ture svaha (or soha)" Gives homage to Tara as the embodiment of compassion and asks her to free us from the bondage of fears and suffering. "Soha" asks that we let these words take root in our heart. Note to YouTube: All photographs in this piece are either original or properly licensed and adhere to copyright requirements. oh, just another one of those sex negative double standards... everyday i'm tumblin' - lacigreen.tumblr.com be my fwend? http tweet me! - www.twitter.com VIDEO SUMMARY In this video I talk about the aversion to femininity as expressed through product marketing, increased violence toward male bodied people who are feminine, and shaming of women who are very feminine. I urge everyone to question these notions and explore the sexist sentiments underlying them: that masculinity is more valuable and femininity is shameful. Do what you want, be what you will, and to hell with the gender police. ;)
