Find out here: en.wikipedia.org Transcript: When Chanel No. 5 launched in 1921, it was modern to the point of what is this, Coco Chanel, you tricksy minx? Its peachy florals and woods shimmer behind a glittering curtain of aldehydes. No. 5s powdery coolness is warmed with mating-season musk - only revealed on the skin, like a secret between lovers. The No. 5 parfum and eau de toilette are still more or less the real deal, sticking to the original blueprint. Im not so crazy about the 80s-era eau de parfum, which is thicker, sharper, and more synthetic. Its like a caricature the original eau de toilette drawn with a big fat marker pen. It took 2008s Eau Première, with its more nuanced and youthful interpretation, to finally lasso me into the No. 5 corral. Eau Première has the same DNA as No. 5, but with fresher, more transparent versions of the notes. To my nose, the old glittering curtain of aldehydes is now a soft fizzy sparkle, playfully highlighting a lemony-orange kick-off. The citrus is the new kid on the block here, putting a little jut in the ladys strut. The fizziness deepens into what were told is jasmine, ylang-ylang, iris and rose, but what I only know as that classic No. 5 smell. As <b>...</b>
