The FirePro V5700 and the Quadro FX 1700 are tested side-by-side for real-time performance in CATIA using the standard CATBench high polygon count models. These tests were conducted at 3D Media in London on Oct 25, 2008 under the supervision Greg Corke and Martyn Day of Develop 3D magazine. The tests were run on identical HP xw6600 workstations.
Demonstration of CrossFire Pro in Maya running on two FirePro V5700. CrossFire lets you divert all the processing power in both cards to a single modeling window. In this demo with Maya 2009, the model has over 2 million triangles. Using a single FirePro card, the model rotates at about 70 fps. Using CrossFire Pro with two cards, the same model frame rate is about 110 fps - in other words, 50% scaling.
Screen capture working in CATIA v5 on a 5 million polygon model, using a FirePro v5700 accelerator. The real time performance is enabled by the FirePro drivers which are optimized for the VBO (Vertex Buffer Object) support in CATIA.
