Here's a quick overview of the Sharkoon X-Tatic v3 headset. Good sound quality, sounds a lot different when compared to Turtle Beaches. They are larger than Turtle Beaches but certainly more aesthetically pleasing. The X-Tatic logo on the outside of the earcups glows bright green when they are plugged in and the mute/vol control box also lights up depending on how you adjust each speaker (Front, Rear, Center, Sub). THE DEAD SILENCE QUESTION: Q. Can I hear through Dead Silence with these? A. This is a really hard question to answer. You can hear through Dead Silence with any headset basically, but usually you have to listen really close. The same applies to these. If some one comes up behind you whilst there are other things happening (eg. explosions, gun fire) you will not be able to hear them. However, without background noise you CAN hear through it, however, you have to listen really close. In my honest opinion, I can't say they are much better than Turtle Beach X1's for listening through Dead Silence. ----- The Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound feature is great. It makes such a difference in comparison to the stereo sound from other gaming headsets. I found myself throwing a smoke grenade in one direction and spinning around in circles, listening to the sound move around my head. It does take some getting used to, if you previously had a stereo headset, but it doesn't take long before you realise the difference.
