The BBC documentary, Museum of Life, will answer these questions, and many more. Museum of Life gives viewers an inside look at the Natural History Museum and some of the 300 or more scientists who work here. Cameras follow them on collecting expeditions around the world, as they hunt for dinosaur fossils and study the biodiversity of remote areas. But there are also plenty of discoveries to be made at the Museum itself, including hidden store rooms full of specimens, and high tech science facilities, such as the DNA labs. In this episode of the video series about barging through France, host Richard Goodwin visits the rolling hills of the Monts Lyonnais where just to the South of Lyon, lives the remarkable Mr. Roland Dams. Mr Dams, a veterinarian, is known as the man who saved the 'coq Francais'. "He has devoted his life to saving the ancient strains of French of poultry," Richard tell us. "Holding a sick looking hen with a pale comb in his arms , he explains that there is nothing wrong with the bird and in fact it is the best sort of chicken that you can get. Roland explained that these two bachelor geese had taken charge of these orphaned goslings. He then showed me the various eggs from the different species and I was amazed by the different sizes of the eggs of the ancient strains. Genetically it can't be explained he tells me. He shows me a Le Mans chicken that he has been developing for 20 years. A huge bird and he says with a great future. I believe he tells me over a glass of the very best Bordeaux red wine that there is movement towards quality food. The work that Roland Dams does will one day stand us all in good stead." This piece is another rarity belonging to the collection of Marco Capurro a gentleman from Genoa, Italy that years ago presented mp3 format of his father's 78 rpm when something like Youtube was only ...a dream. Images pass from 1910 to 2010 with the town of Tijuana in Southern California The mexican city of Tijuana,( Tia Juana = Aunt Jane maybe the name of owner of a little inn south of the river around years 1780-1800 ), had only a couple of hundred inhabitants in 1910, but rapidly grew up with some prominents persons like Miguel Gonzalez with his liquor store named "Big Curio". In 1923, with Mr Heraclio Ochoa, Gonzalez founded the Cerveceria Mexicali, SA, and The Mexicali Beer Hall, was known as the longest bar in the world. ( during the Prohibition in the United States of producing and serving alcohol ) Next door there was ( still standing after renovation) the Caesars Hotel where in 1930 Mr. Caesar Cardini created the special flavour of Caesar's Salad ! www.TaterState.com Boise Real Estate -- Helping Out Saturday, March 24, my wife and I headed to Emmett Idaho to do a little trail clean up with the Emmett Rough Riders ATV club. We took our Polaris RZR XP 900 with the new logo for TaterState.com -- Boise Real Estate on it. The club does an annual trail clean up and cleans the Willow Creek area. This year we split up into 4 different groups going 4 different directions. Each group was responsible for cleaning 10-15 miles of roads and trials. MJ from the BLM was there to oversee things. The Clean Up And Boise Real Estate Talk It kind of fascinates me when people ask you what you do and when you say I sell Boise Real Estate they always seem to ask how the Boise Real Estate Market is. It always seems to turn into a discussion about real estate and the housing market in general even when you're out in the middle of know where picking up trash. It is surprising how many aluminum cans you find alongside the road. The Emmett Rough Riders take all the cans collected on the clean up, sell them, and donate the money to charity. One gentleman had an accident with his ATV. He stopped, bent over to pick up a piece of paper, slipped off his ATV, and broke his wrist. He was taken to the Hospital and will be ok once his wrist heals. The Pot Luck and More Boise Real Estate Talk The clean up started at 10 AM and at 2 PM there was a Pot Luck at our starting point.
