It's bright and fresh without being cheesy or clumsy. It's clean without being soapy. Terre d'Hermès has a sharp, grapefruit attack that opens up into pepper and rosy geranium. Vetiver, which can be dense and rooty smelling, has a sheer treatment here. Theres a mineral flintiness in the scent, which gives it effervescence. Even though "terre", French for "earth", is in the name, it's not an earthy fragrance. I'd say it's a refined rugged scent. Three years after the introduction of the eau de toilette - comes the parfum version. It was created by master perfumer Jean Claude Ellena, the superstar nose behind the original Terre d'Hermès. It's really rare to see masculine scents issued in this full strength concentration - and I don't know why that is. Aw shucks - eau de colognes good enough you, Mister! Eau de toilette if you're feelin' like a flashy, dandified devil. Oh yeah! You know when that is. But with Terre d'Hermès parfum, all the good stuff in the eau de toilette just got gooder.
