How to change the combination of a Simplex Lock: www.safeandvaultstore.com Hi, I'm Mary from V-Line and today were going to show you how to set your combination. What you do is start with your door locked shut, you're going to turn your knob to the left counter clockwise. That clears out whatever combination or whatever buttons have been pushed. You enter the existing combination, either the factory setting it came to you on, or whatever you have it set to now. After you enter that code, you turn your knob to the right clockwise and that opens it. Once you have it open, you're going to turn the knob back left counter clockwise to lock it so now it is locked with the door open. At this point you're going to enter the existing combination so again whatever you just pushed to open it you push those buttons but don't turn the knob. Now we're going to go on the inside and at the bottom of the lock we have a little tab here. What we're going to do here is push this little tab up and push this button into the lock. You just kind of hear it click into place. Then we are going to go back the outside of the door. We're going to take our knob and turn it left or counter clockwise. Now we've just cleared out the existing combination. Now we are ready to set our new code. For example if we want our code to be 1-2-3-4-5.
