The Early Years 2004 First released on Shades Of Deep Purple 1968 Rod Evans - vocals Ritchie Blackmore - guitar Jon Lord - keyboards Nick Simper - bass Ian Paice - drums In 1967, former Searchers drummer Chris Curtis contacted London businessman Tony Edwards in the hope that he would manage a new group he was putting together, to be called Roundabout. Impressed with the plan, Edwards agreed to finance the venture with two business partners: John Coletta and Ron Hire (Hire-Edwards-Coletta -- HEC Enterprises). The first recruit was the classically-trained Hammond organ player Jon Lord, who had most notably played with The Artwoods (led by Art Wood, brother of future Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood, and featuring Keef Hartley). He was followed by session guitarist Ritchie Blackmore, who was persuaded to return from Hamburg to audition for the new group. Curtis soon dropped out, but HEC Enterprises, as well as Lord and Blackmore, were keen to carry on. For the bass guitar, Lord suggested his old friend Nick Simper, with whom he had played in a band called The Flower Pot Men and their Garden back in 1967. Simper's claims to fame were that he had been in Johnny Kidd and The Pirates and had been in the car crash that killed Kidd. UPDATE 2: - Just mounted the CLM-V55-BDL (same as CLM-V55) to the Canon EOS 60D and I am happy to announce that the aspect ratio is preserved with no squishing of the live view picture! - It should be noted that when you press record the picture is scaled smaller but maintains the aspect ratio. - If you are not recording but still in movie mode the picture will take up 95% of the CLM-V55 and maintains the aspect ratio. - Peaking also works wonderfully with the 60D. - Anyone with info on the 7D's compatibility output please let us know as the 7D has a different output. - Very impressed with the CLM-V55's ability to recognize the input signal via HDMI UPDATE: - This monitor has a 800 x 480 resolution. - The NEX-VG10 will fill the WHOLE screen when output via HDMI - However other DSLR's will output differently (ie 5D, 60D, T3i, T2i and T3 models will output using 720 x 480, while the 7D outputs at 1620 x 910) - Adding to the above point, at 720 x 480 I've seen the sides of this monitor cropped in Norman Pogson's review using his 5D Mk II). **SEE UPDATE 2 - I've not seen this in use with a 1620 x 910 output such as the 7D, anyone with info please post! go.tagjag.com - I have three monitors and one large surface, thanks to Eyefinity by AMD. I have these screens connected to a new AMD computer system, sent to me by AMD as well. I will be reviewing that system at a later date, so stay tuned for it. As I set up this new system on the live stream, I realized I didn't have the right keyboard and mouse to use with it. Sure, I have several keyboards and mice lying around. However, they all have cords attached to them. I prefer wireless systems, so I went shopping. I picked up this Microsoft Wireless Media Desktop set for just about seventeen bucks. It looks great, and works well enough for what I need to accomplish.
