1. Introduction: Tom explains the goals for the talk about Mary, the mother of Jesus Tom Collins speaks about Mary, the mother of Jesus, each year to the RCIA program at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Cedar Park, near Austin. This talk was recorded on 13 December 2005. Tom discusses what Catholics do and do not believe about Mary. Tom shares his personal story, walks through the Bible to explain Mary's role, and explains common questions such as the Immaculate Conception, Mary as the "New Eve," Mary as the "Mother of God," and Marian Apparitions. The talk has been broken up into 5 parts. Some of the 5 parts have in turn been broken down into parts I, II, and III to fit the size requirements for online video sharing. 1.
