Concerto in G minor, Siciliano - London Chamber Orchestra conducted by Bernard Lanner (Innovative Music Products Ltd.-Hallmark Classics-Carlton Music-Elap Music) Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (March 4, 1678 July 28, 1741), nicknamed il Prete Rosso ("The Red Priest"), was a baroque composer and Venetian priest, as well as a famous virtuoso violinist, born and raised in the Republic of Venice. The Four Seasons, a series of four violin concerti, is his best-known work and a highly popular baroque piece. The Concerto in C major is originally written for 2 violins in tromba marina, 2 recorders, 2 trumpets, 2 mandolines, 2 salmoés, 2 theorboes, cello, strings and harpsichord but in modern versions (as this here) is transcribed for 2 trumpets, 2 violas, 2 flutes, 2 mandolins, 2 guitars, cello & strings.
