Panasonic GH2 has an Audio Level Meter and Audio Level controls. GH2 has somewhat solved the audio problems with DSLRs. Although we still don't have audio monitoring - this is a nice step in the right direction. At least for run and gun situations we don't need dual audio or a juiced link with AGC disable anymore. We tested the audio with the following microphones: Built-in microphone Panasonic DMW-MS1 Stereo Mic audio-technica ATR35 Lapel Mic Sennheiser ew100 G2 wireless lapel mic Shure SM57 with Sennheiser SKP100 G2 wireless system CONCLUSION: Much improved audio control on GH2 compared with GH1. Being able to set the gain level is a huge improvement. We found the in-camera gain to be too noisy and the best was always to set gain to minimum or level 1. Then we adjusted levels on the Sennheiser G2 which had the most control. Settings on Sennheiser G2: Transmitter Sensitivity: -20db Receiver AF Output: -30db Best mic - in our opinion: Sennheiser ew100 G2 wireless lavalier (of course) or Shure SM57 with SKP 100 G2 Best cheaper option: audio-technica ATR35 lavalier We love this microphone - it costs about $50 and is a workhorse - works remarkably well. Runs forever on a little battery and gives great sound for the price. bananamana.com PLEASE SUBSCRIBE: www.youtube.com FACEBOOK: www.facebook.com TWITTER: twitter.com
