The Beats Studio by Dr. Dre are amazing over-ear headphones. They provide great comfort, very good sound, and the ultimate style in head phones. Having said that, they need to be great headphones, because they are faaarrrrr from cheap. There are plenty of options for shoppers including Bose (which I am not a fan of), Sennheiser (such as the HD238 - which I feature in the review), Sony MDR-NC200D (which I have not tried), Sennheiser PXC 450 NoiseGard, VModa, Nyrius, Audio Technica ATH-ANC7B - just to mention a few options. Having mentioned those competitors, I am sure you will agree that the Beats Studio by Dr. Dre deserve your attention. My Observations - Very good sound - just short of great. Clearly, the Beats Studio have great bass that is both deep and clean. The result is bass that has extraordinary depth. It is difficult to explain, but it is the difference from being in a room surrounded by speakers compared to standing in front of a speaker. The high range sounds good, but it is not exceptional. Therefore, I give sound quality a 8 out of 10. - Noise canceling - Very effective at canceling out all ambient noise. This allows the listener to completely disengage for their environment regardless of their location.
